Incoming Captains Report

An introduction message from
John Hilton
Club Captain 2021

I would just like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your new Captain for 2021, seeing as we are not able to hold this year’s AGM due to CovID-19 restrictions.

My name is John Hilton. I am 70 years old and I have been married for 49 years to my wife Susan. I have two Daughters and two Granddaughters. I’m sure you can guess who rules in my household.

I have been playing golf at Ramsdale Park for some 25 years. I played a lot with the Monday Club and the Seniors, and then I started to play with the Main Club to which I have made so many good friends and to which I hope make a lot more.

For me to become Club Captain is such a honour. I know there is a lot of responsibility and hard work involved in this position and I am looking forward to working with the committee and with Theresa Plimmer, the Centre Manager.

Let us hope that we can soon get back to playing golf this season, and the competitions of which we missed so many last year.

My nominated charity for this year will be Maggies, which is for cancer patients and their families. They do a lot behind the scenes and they are based at Nottingham City Hospital.

I would like to say welcome to Phil Abbott who is my Vice Captain, and finally to thank Richard Hone, last year’s Captain, for doing a great job in difficult circumstances and for the help he has given me.

Please stay safe

Regards

John Hilton
