Ramsdale Park Golf Club wins the 2018 Gedling Challenge

On Sunday 13^th May 2018, the Ramsdale Park Golf Club team consisting of Greg Cawthorne (Captain), Mark Oldershaw (Vice Captain), Jacob Barlow (Junior rep), Will Davies (Club Professional), Steve Norton (General Manager) and club members Richard Hone, James Abbott, Martin Bettison, Dean Neville, Frank Shaw, Terry Crofts, Hans Bauder, Ronnie Shaw and Dave Spencer held off a strong challenge from the holders Oakmere Park to win the trophy for only the 3^rd time by a margin of only 2 points.

A special mention needs to go out to Jacob Barlow who scored 40 points off his 5 handicap, as well as James Abbott with 39 off his 3 handicap – well played to you both. It was also interesting to note that we won this event in 2002, 2010 and now 2018, so hopefully we will not win it again until 2026 and can hold onto it for a bit longer this time.
