Event Instructions

Recent changes in the CovID rules has meant a need to adapt the manner in which this event will now be managed. In addition to the CovID procedures that we have come to accept as “new normal” we also now need to adhere to the legal requirements of the “RULE OF SIX” procedures, both indoors and outdoors.

In collaboration with Spalding Golf Club the following procedures have been agreed.

COACH
The coach will arrive at Ramsdale Park approximately 7:00am and should leave no later than 7:30am. All being well it will arrive at Spalding for approximately 9:00am.

If you are listed as using the coach, but for any reason cannot make it on the day please inform either Richard Hone or John Hilton so that the coach is not held up waiting for you. Similarly, if you have reason to request a place on the coach at the last minute please use the same contacts.

ARRIVALS / TEE TIMES
In order to comply with CovID guidelines we should ideally arrive at staggered times to facilitate adhering to social distancing rules. Most of the coach users have been allocated the early tee times, therefore most members that are using their own transport have been allocated the later tee times. These members are requested to try and time their arrival so as to not be too early. I appreciate that the distance and route makes the actual travelling time somewhat unpredictable, so please just do the best you can.

RULE OF SIX
It is a legal requirement that we do not exceed more than six persons in any group gathering.

It would be helpful if everyone could have their arrival breakfast together in their playing groups. Spalding have been given the names and menu choices for each playing group.

On completion of your round of golf you should remain in your playing groups for your two course meal, which you will have in the dining area of the club. After your meal the earlier groups should move to another area of the club, remembering to never be in a group of more than 6 people.

DRESS CODE
Changing within the club house is to be avoided. Due to the CovID situation there is no strict formal dress code. Those travelling on the coach may use the locker room facility to change their footwear if necessary.

COMPETITION
The competition will be a Singles Stableford played off the Yellow Tees (Men) and Red Tees (Ladies). The Ladies will receive two courtesy shots due to the difference in Par/SSS.

Scorecards and instructions will be available in group packs for collection on the day.

Completed scorecards should be deposited with Mark Northern or John White.

Prizes will be awarded for the top six winning scores, and there are 4 sponsored Nearest The Pin prizes. 6th (Tempo Project & Asset Management – Dene Parsons), 9th Paul Felstead, 11th (In Two – Steve Kerton, Spalding Seniors), 16th Terry Crofts.

Driving Range – Tokens for 30 balls £2.50

Putting Green – Limited to four persons. Priority given to groups just before their tee time.

PRESENTATION PROCEDURE CHANGES
The procedure for the presentation of raffle winners and competition prize winners will need to be conducted without the winners coming forward to collect their prizes until the end of the presentation. This is due to the large number of members that will be present, and the need to avoid people making their way through quite closely packed groups of people.

CHARITY RAFFLE
Raffle tickets will be on sale to raise funds in aid of The Pilgrim Hospital Stroke Unit.

In order to comply with CovID guidelines a sealed collection bucket will be used which members can drop change or notes into eliminating the need for anyone else to handle the cash, N.B. no change will be given. However, this is an ideal opportunity for members to get rid of all that loose change that they haven’t been able to spend recently!

Tickets are £2 each or 3 for £5. YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN A RAFFLE TICKET instead your name will be written clearly on the back of the ticket.

There will only be one designated person who will handle all of the raffle tickets, and they will also be the only person to draw the winning tickets, thus avoiding any risk of cross contamination.

The displayed prizes will be numbered 1,2,3,4… etc. As each ticket is drawn the prizes will be awarded in their designated numerical order. Please wait until the end of the event, or if needed at a later date, before collecting your prize.

COMPETITION PRIZES
Winners of the competition prizes will be announced, but the winners WILL NOT come up to collect their prizes at that point. Instead the prizes will be distributed at the end of the event, or if needed at a later date.

LEAVING THE EVENT
Strictly speaking we should stagger the exiting of the club house at the end of the event to avoid crowding. Members are requested to be mindful of this issue and to therefore not all attempt to leave at the same time. Those travelling by the coach may need to be given precedence depending on the exact time the event concludes, approx. 5:00pm.
